People & Governance
As an independent charity Sheffield Museums is governed by a Board of voluntary Trustees and Associate Trustees.
Together with the Chief Executive and Directors, they help shape the strategic objectives of the museums, ensure they’re resilient and sustainable, and successfully serve the people of Sheffield.
We have a dedicated, talented team of around 100 staff – around 30% work full-time and 70% work part-time. The team is made up of several departments, each with a specific area of responsibility:
- Commercial & Operations
- Exhibitions & Displays
- Finance & Administration
- Learning & Participation
Our commercial activity, including our shops and hospitality offer, is carried out by a subsidiary company, SGMT Enterprises Ltd.
