Our volunteers are fantastic.

Whether they’re engaging families at Weston Park Museum, welcoming people to Kelham Island Museum, supporting our events team, or helping out behind-the-scenes, every hour they spend with us makes a massive difference to our sites and our visitors.

Volunteering with us can also be rewarding and can enhance your skills, knowledge and confidence. As well as offering valuable first-hand experience of how museums work, it’s a great chance to meet people and try something new.

If you’re over 16 and able to offer some time to support us through volunteering we would be hugely grateful for your contribution, but most importantly, so will our visitors.

Under 16? You can find our more about opportunities for young people to get in involved in the work of the museums here

How to volunteer

We open for volunteer registration at certain times in the year, and we keep this page updated when there are specific roles to apply for.

It's helped me a lot with my mental health and confidence, talking and being around other people. It's rewarding, I feel I get more back than I give.
