Evening Workshop: Banner Making for International Women’s Day

Wed 13 March 2024 , 6pm-8pm

Millennium Gallery

Join artist Tina Ramos Ekongo to create and decorate your own banner for International Women’s Day 2024, inspired by campaigners for women's and girls' rights.

Tina will introduce you to the process and guide you step by step to make your own inspirational banner to take home.

All ages and abilities are welcome, and all materials are included.

Tina Ramos Ekongo is an Equatorial Guinean painter and illustrator who lives and works in Manchester. After studying at the Escuela de Artes (School of Art) in Zaragoza, Spain, and the Escuela Superior de Diseño (School of Design) in Valencia, Spain, she attended the post-graduate programme in International Marketing at Sheffield Hallam University. Tina Ramos Ekongo's work is mainly tribal and vibrant, exploring her African heritage. The main character of her work is the African women from the continent and the diaspora; in this way Ekongo’s work is trying to give them back their lost identity.
