Weston Park Weather Station is one of the longest continuously recording climatological stations in the UK.

The station was founded in 1882, and today is operated in partnership with the Met Office. More information about the history of the station can be found here

The station collects rainfall, air pressure and temperature readings from the grounds of Weston Park and sunshine and wind readings from the roof of Weston Park Museum.

Because the station has been located in the same place for such a long time, it can provide invaluable insights into how local climate has changed, and feeds into the global climatological dataset. Information about the means and extremes recorded at the station can be found here.
