Family Activity: City of Rivers

Wed 14 February 2024 , 12pm-3pm

Weston Park Museum

Join us to learn about our amazing rivers and get involved in a range of hands-on activities. Find out what we can do to stay safe by water and explore ways to reduce the impacts of flooding with Connected by Water.

The team from Connected By Water, the South Yorkshire environmental partnership, will be on hand to help you learn more about our rivers and understand how you can prepare and build resilience to flooding. You’ll be able to:

  • Have a go at building flood defences with the Environment Agency’s interactive flood model
  • Find out what might be lurking in flood water
  • Learn how you can prepare in your home, school or business
  • Understand how we can use nature to create better habitats and strengthen flood resilience
