Saturday Art Workshop: Linocut Printing with James Green

Sat 7 November 2026 , 10:30am-4pm

Millennium Gallery

Enjoy an introduction to linocut printmaking in this comprehensive workshop with printmaker artist James Green.

During the day, you'll learn how to create a one-colour 10 x 15cm linocut print to take home. James will show you how to compose your image, safely cut the lino with tools and then make a print.

All materials are included in the workshop, and no experience is necessary. You'll just need to bring in an idea for a print, be that a photograph, drawing or other visuals.

This workshop is suitable for participants over 16. Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

James Green is a Sheffield-based artist and printmaker. He specialises in linocut and screen-print, and his work includes landscapes, wildlife and surreal donkey compositions. He had a major print retrospective at the Millennium Gallery in 2023 called Donkey Nonsense and is back at the gallery co-curating a group print exhibition, New Editions: Contemporary Printmaking alongside Kid Acne.

This workshop forms part of the programme of events complementing the exhibition New Editions: Contemporary Printmaking which is on display at the Millennium Gallery from Saturday 12 September to Sunday 24 December.
