A photograph of a table covered in a paisley print tablecloth, against a wall papered with brown and white floral tiled pattern. On the table, there is a tall red and gold lidded jug, a slightly smaller maroon vessel splattered with white paint. There is also a serving tray with a large red flower painted in the centre. There are also several small, handle-less teacups on the table. A photograph of a table covered in a paisley print tablecloth, against a wall papered with brown and white floral tiled pattern. Weston Park Museum

This display has been created by the participants, interpreters, volunteers and staff from the Refugee Council’s Women’s Craft and Chat Group in Sheffield.

It includes a selection of objects from the museum collection, as well as items loaned by the participants. Everyday objects are used to explore the idea of “home” and the importance of traditions around eating and drinking to create a sense of community.
