Contemporary Connections: South Asian Heritage

Continuing Display

Weston Park Museum

Everyone is making history every day. Weston Park Museum collects objects that are important to people now so future generations can look back and understand what life was like in Sheffield. Weston Park Museum celebrates its 150th birthday in 2025 – what do you have that could represent your life in Sheffield in another 150 years?

This display was produced in collaboration with a group of local co-curators, who have lived experience of South Asian heritage. The objects on display have been chosen to reflect broad themes relating to South Asian communities in Sheffield today. They are a small selection, which act as an introduction to a large and diverse community.
