Connecting with Collections: How Do We Decide Whose Stories are the Most Important to Tell?

Fri 11 September 2026 , 2pm-4pm

Kelham Island Museum

Join us at Kelham Island Museum to explore big ideas such as memory, storytelling, history and influence.

We’ll use the current exhibitions to stimulate new thinking for an informal but in-depth conversation.

As part of a group, you’ll explore Sheffield Museum’s collections and consider how they resonate today. This kind of philosophising is about collaborative thinking, talking and listening to build our understanding. Enjoy exploring ideas with others in a setting steeped in history.

All are welcome, no experience necessary.

"Really interesting to share thoughts and ideas with others like this. The facilitator also did a really good job of running the group and ensuring that everyone got their say. I really had no idea what to expect – but would very happily come to another of these." - previous attendee
