Celebrating South Asian Heritage - A Sheffield City Council Display

Tue 9 July - Sun 15 September 2024

Weston Park Museum

South Asian heritage and culture influence our communities in Sheffield and across the UK. In this display, six Sheffielders speak about what their South Asian heritage and their homes in Sheffield mean to them.

It also includes stories of pioneering South Asian immigrants who came to Sheffield and worked, settled, and built communities here in the 20th century. This information has kindly been provided by David Holland, based on archival and interview research.

Further material has generously been loaned by Sunrit Culture Group and Sheffield City Archives and Local Studies Library.
