Abbeydale Works is no longer producing steel and the buildings are left empty. However, when World War Two is declared the demand for Sheffield steel intensifies but the bombs are dropping!

Explore how Abbeydale becomes a site of importance in supporting Sheffield during the War. Discover why an increase in steel production for the War brought the works to life again. Find out more about evacuation in Sheffield and what it might have been like to live at Abbeydale.

Due to space restrictions your class will work through a carousel of 3 activities. We will need two of your adults to lead 2 of the activities. Clear instructions and information will be provided beforehand.

This workshop will be available on Thursdays and Fridays from April to the end of October.
