Drop-in Session: Collaborative Mural Painting with Paul Norton and Angela Hardwick

Thu 2 July 2026 , 10am-3pm

Weston Park Museum

Take part in a special live painting session at Weston Park Museum with former King Mojo artist Paul Norton – whose distinctive artwork adorned the famous Pitsmoor club during its heyday – and Sheffield-based artist Angela Hardwick.

The event will give former club-goers an opportunity to re-connect with Paul, hear his memories of the club and help paint a large-scale community mural inspired by King Mojo's remarkable story.

Over recent weeks, Angela, Paul and scores of former club-goers have worked closely together as the mural design has evolved. The artwork has been shaped by memories, ideas and suggestions gathered from former Mojo-goers and members of the public through events, online feedback, emails and media coverage.

People are invited to book a free place and add their own brushstrokes to the mural and share memories of the venue that helped launch Sheffield's reputation as one of Britain's great music cities.

The mural forms part of Mojo Rising – Celebrating 60 Years of Music and Community, a two-year heritage project supported by a £114,300 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Places can be booked by calling Angela Hardwick on 07730 572908 or emailing: rememberingkingmojo@gmail.com

This event is being offered and operated by Mojo Rising – Celebrating 60 Years of Music and Community and is in addition to Sheffield Museums’ own event programme.
