Our sites and museums are for everyone. Here you'll find information on accessible facilities and resources to help you plan your visit.

Getting Around

  • There is on-street parking at either end of Bingham Park, on Hangingwater Road and Rustlings Road.
  • At the Hangingwater Road entrance, there is a gentle incline from road level to the path along the Porter Brook. It takes about 5 minutes to walk to Shepherd Wheel Workshop from this point.
  • There is also access from Rustlings Road, which has no incline but is a longer walk (about 10-15 minutes).
  • The main park path has a good surface for wheelchairs so access to the site is possible from either end of the park.
  • We welcome Assistance Dogs to Shepherd Wheel Workshop.
  • Due to the historic nature of the site, there are some rough and uneven surfaces, and one area is only accessible by steps.
  • Outside seating is available in the rear courtyard of the building and in the park.
  • Some automated audio interpretation is available on site and the site is attended by an engineer and volunteers.
