Getting Around

  • There are 2 accessible parking bays for blue badge holders available in addition to the onsite car parking.
  • Drop off points are available at the upper car park adjacent to the cafe.
  • We welcome Assistance Dogs to Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet.

Sounds & Environment

  • A video with sound and subtitles is situated in the All About Abbeydale exhibit.
  • As this is a working site there can be noisy machinery including a working waterwheel and blacksmith forges.
  • Ear defenders are available on request.

Accessible Toilets (including nearest Changing Places toilet)

  • An accessible toilet is located in the toilet block adjacent to the café.
  • The nearest Changing Places Toilet is located at Abbey Lane Public Toilet Block

Exploring the Museum

  • Due to the historic nature of the site, there are many rough and uneven surfaces, and many areas are only accessible by steps.
  • A static tactile map is available to help visitors find their way around the site. The map is located outside, near the entrance to the Worker’s Cottage.
  • Folding seats are available on request.
