This talk will look at the legacy of great Sheffield knife makers Joseph Rodgers and George Wostenholm to show how the skills of the Little Mesters are alive today. They will discuss how their knives combine form with function and how technology allows quality products to be produced with consistency but without losing the joys of being handmade in Sheffield.
Join the Immediate Past Master Cutler Charles Turner and the Mesters from Rodgers Wolstenholm Group, who are based on Kelham Island Museum's Little Mester Lane, for this informative talk.
There will also be an opportunity for attendees to purchase pocketknives from the Mesters on the day. The pocketknives bear the *+ trademark, which has been in constant use by its makers since 1682.
Suggested donation £5 – Please donate if you're able and help keep your museums open and available for everyone to enjoy.
