Family Workshop: Colours to Move You

Sat 12 July 2025

Millennium Gallery

Enjoy a fun, interactive workshop, inspired by the objects and artworks in the Colour exhibition with artist Nisha Lall.

This workshop includes short activities that will get you moving to music, being creative with material and props, and creating poetry together. You’ll be inspired by the shapes and patterns in the exhibition artworks to create movement, write a short poem about the colours around us, and explore what colour means to you.

Nisha Lall is an arts practitioner trained in Indian, Arabic, Latin dance styles. Nisha has over 15 years’ experience in delivering dance projects and events in educational, professional and community settings. She believes in making global art forms accessible to a wide audience. Her work has allowed her to deliver projects to diverse communities including parent and toddlers, refugees, global majority groups, SEND families and care homes. She is also the Co-Festival Director of Sheffield’s annual outdoor dance festival, Chance To Dance as well as the artistic director of ASHAY Dance CIC.

Recommended age 7+. Suitable for the whole family to do together. Sessions run for 50 minutes, so please arrive at the start time of your ticket to ensure maximum time during the workshop. Please book a ticket for each child and a ticket for each adult who will be participating. All children need to be accompanied by an adult.

This workshop forms part of the programme of events complementing the exhibition Colour, which opens at the Millennium Gallery on 19 June 2025, until 14 September 2025.
