Booking essential
Arts practitioner Nisha Lall will teach you dances inspired by South American, African and South Asian styles. You’ll learn how colour is used in dance from different cultures, and have the chance to try using colourful props and playing instruments as well.
Nisha Lall is an arts practitioner trained in Indian, Arabic, Latin dance styles. Nisha has over 15 years’ experience in delivering dance projects and events in educational, professional and community settings. She believes in making global art forms accessible to a wide audience. Her work has allowed her to deliver projects to diverse communities including parent and toddlers, refugees, global majority groups, SEND families and care homes. She is also the Co-Festival Director of Sheffield’s annual outdoor dance festival, Chance To Dance as well as the artistic director of ASHAY Dance CIC.
Recommended age 7+. This is a workshop for the whole family to do together, so please book a ticket for each child and each adult. Sessions run for 50 minutes, so please arrive at the start time of your ticket to ensure maximum time during the workshop. All children need to be accompanied by an adult.
This workshop forms part of the programme of events complementing the exhibition Colour, which opens at the Millennium Gallery on 19 June 2025, until 14 September 2025.
