At Baby Friendly Art Club, we create a creative, calming space where parents and carers can feel welcome to focus on their own creativity and wellbeing while keeping their baby close by. Baby Friendly Art Club is all about you – the parent or carer. These sessions are designed to help you slow down, connect with others, and enjoy some creative time without needing to find childcare.
What to expect:
Mindfulness Exercises
We begin with 10–15 minutes of gentle mindfulness, focusing on deep breathing to help ease stress and anxiety. If your baby is settled, you can pop them down on soft mats and close your eyes. If they need feeding, cuddles or comfort, that’s completely fine. We're breastfeeding-friendly and have baby changing facilities on site.
Art-Making
After mindfulness, we move into an hour of relaxed, guided art-making. We use non-messy materials so you can start and stop easily if your baby needs you. We provide:
- Soft, clean mats and a selection of toys suitable for babies under 12 months
- Clipboards so you can draw on the move
- Buckets for art materials to keep little fingers safe (and clean)!
- Gentle guidance and teaching on your creative technique
Friendly Support
Each session is led by one or two team members who will focus on both the art activity to help build your skills, and also to chat, lend a hand and support you and your baby throughout.
You’ll meet other parents and carers in a relaxed, supportive environment where it’s easy to strike up conversation or share stories.
Why It Matters
Social isolation and loneliness are common for new parents. Baby Friendly Art Club gives you time and space to connect, not just with your creativity, but with other people going through the same experiences. These sessions are for you to play, not just your baby.
All new parents are welcome here, whether you're an experienced artist, completely new to art or just looking for a calm place to be.
