ArtWorks Creative Weekend: Silversmithing

Using sheets of copper and brass, learn techniques such as folding, cutting, and hammering to create your own unique handmade bookmark. 

Inspired by Sheffield’s rich metalworking heritage, you’ll explore fold forming in this beginner-friendly metalsmithing workshop. Yorkshire Artspace artist Morvarid Alavifard, together with artists Chrissie and Luke from Artworks, will guide you through the process. 

This playful, hands-on session for adults is perfect for anyone curious about metalworking or looking for a creative experience. All materials provided.  

This workshop is organised by ArtWorks and forms part of the programme of events complementing the exhibition ArtWorks Together International 2026, which continues at the Millennium Gallery until Sunday 31 May. Tickets have been subsidised through project funding
