We celebrated 150 years of making life-shaping, eye-opening, joy-filled memories at Weston Park Museum with a bumper birthday programme of exhibitions, events and more.

2025 marked the 150th anniversary of Weston Park Museum. Since the museum first opened in 1875, it’s continued to welcome people in their millions, from the tiniest tots to lifelong fans.  It’s people that bring the museum to life – our amazing visitors, school groups from across the region and beyond, the communities we collaborate with, and of course, everyone whose stories are shared across the exhibitions and displays.

Weston Park is a museum with Sheffield at its heart, one where the city’s stories are its greatest treasure. It’s a place where each of us can discover where we’ve come from and imagine what our futures might be. A place where we can find ourselves, and our connection to each other. It’s a place where memories are made. That’s only possible thanks to you – visitors and volunteers, artists, makers and experts, donors, funders and Friends, and all of you who have generously shared your objects, experiences, knowledge, passion and time with us. Sheffield’s museums are here because of you.

Throughout 2025, we celebrated 150 spectacular years of making memories together and look forward to many more!
