Supporters power our work to make a positive difference in people’s lives

As a thank you for helping us to ignite the imaginations of everyone we welcome, we’ll bring you closer to our work and the change you’re helping us to make.

Stay up to date with our quarterly Supporters e-newsletter, packed with insights, news on exhibitions and events, and exclusive glimpses into what’s happening behind the scenes.
You’ll also get our monthly What’s On email update too!
Receive regular invitations to our special launch events for our new exhibitions
Enjoy an invitation for you and a guest to our annual Supporters event to celebrate your generosity and the difference that you help us to make.

Once you’ve signed up, we’ll be in touch with your Supporter details and the opportunity to Gift Aid your membership to make an even bigger difference (at no extra cost to you!).

A Supporter membership has a minimum 12-month term – payments will auto-renew at the end of the term, just like a mobile phone contract, but you’ll have the option to cancel at any time. Cancelling your membership is easy – find out how in the Supporters FAQs at the bottom of this page.

Discover Supporter

£45 annually (£35 benefits concession)

Our Discover Supporters help send people on learning journeys that last a lifetime.

Join as a Discover Supporter for £45 a year (£35 for those in receipt of means-tested state benefits) and you could help us to:

Provide free to access activities during school holidays that see all families have the chance to create, learn and discover together
Offer talks, tours and workshops that introduce people to new ideas and help curiosity and creativity to flourish
Develop hands-on resources that bring learning to life in schools in every Sheffield postcode

Become a Discover Supporter – £45 annually Become a Discover Supporter (benefits concession) – £35 annually

Connect Supporter

£12.50 monthly / £150 annually

As a Connect Supporter, you’ll help people understand their past, learn from each other’s experiences and find their place in the world today.

By supporting our work with your regular gift, you could:

Bring people together through exhibitions and displays that help us understand each other and the world around us
Help people feel a sense of purpose, belonging and connection while developing new skills and experience through our Volunteering programme
Spark the imaginations of over 17,000 children each year with unique out-of-classroom learning experiences across the museums that ask big questions and celebrate big ideas

Connect Supporters will enjoy an opportunity to get closer to the collections and the stories behind them themselves through a special museum insights event each year.

Become a Connect Supporter – £12.50 monthly Become a Connect Supporter – £150 annually

Innovate Circle

£30 monthly / £360 annually

As part of our Innovate Circle, you’ll be playing a vital role in our work to make a positive difference in our city.

Through your generosity, you could:

Help us forge and foster relationships that bring world-class art and design to the people of Sheffield to enjoy here, on their doorstep
Champion the city’s unbridled creative talent and nurture our next generation of artists, makers and innovators
Help safeguard Sheffield’s remarkable heritage and develop dynamic new ways for people to connect with their history
Support our work to showcase and care for the city’s own remarkable art collection, and welcome guest curators to bring rich new perspectives to it

The Supporters who are closest to our work, our Innovate Circle will receive regular updates from our Directors, as well as the chance to meet and chat with them about our latest work to best serve the city and its people. The Innovate Circle will also enjoy opportunities to get closer to the collections they help us care for and the stories behind them.

Supporters FAQ

When you sign up, you’ll make your initial payment via Go Cardless, either as a one-off or a recurring monthly payment. A Supporters membership has a minimum 12-month term – payments will auto-renew at the end of the term, just like a mobile phone contract, but you’ll have the option to cancel at any time. Cancelling your membership is easy – find out how below.

In the month before your membership due to renew, we’ll get in touch to remind you about your renewal and confirm your ongoing membership. If for any reason you’re unable to continue your support, you can let us know and we’ll cancel your renewal and your forthcoming payments.

By adding Gift Aid, you’ll be making an even bigger difference to the people we serve. If you’re a UK taxpayer, just complete the Gift Aid declaration survey we send you – we can then claim an extra 25p for every £1 of your membership, all at no extra cost to you!

Yes – you can always make a donation to support our work here

Throughout the year there may be additional opportunities to support appeals related to our work – we’ll include these in the newsletters we send you.

If you’d like to pay a regular amount not listed in our membership options just let us know and we can arrange that.

If you decide you’re unable to continue your support for any reason, cancelling your membership is straightforward. All you need to do is email us at fundraising@sheffieldmuseums.org.uk with the name the Supporter membership is under and we’ll cancel the payment renewal and email you to confirm your membership has been discontinued.

Yes, our Volunteering opportunities are open to everyone. We recruit new volunteers at various times during the year – you can find out more about volunteering opportunities and how it supports our work here
