Digital Takeover Day with Kids in Museums

This year, we took part in Digital Takeover Day, a campaign led by Kids In Museums to empower young people to make their voices heard by taking control of museums’ social media accounts for the day.

Every year museums, art galleries and heritage sites in the UK hand over their social media reins for one day to young people. Digital Takeover Day provides an opportunity for young people to share a fresh new perspectives by creating playful, fun and authentic online content.

Our work experience students spent the week finding out what working in a museum is like. We set them the challenge of creating some social media content about our museums and galleries.

We think they did a fantastic job! You can see what they created on our Instagram highlights: instagram.com/sheffmuseums
