Curator Tour: Caribbean Footsteps

Wed 28 August 2024 , 1pm-1:45pm

Weston Park Museum

Enjoy a tour of the latest exhibition at Weston Park Museum, Sheffield Stories: Caribbean Footsteps, with Cheryl Bowen, Community Curator and Clara Morgan, Curator of Social History.

You’ll find out more about the main themes of the exhibition, hear about some highlight objects on display, and get a special insight into how the exhibition came together.

Caribbean Footsteps celebrates the many ways that people of African Caribbean heritage have contributed to Sheffield life. Shaped by a team of community co-curators, displays share inspiring stories of journeys, culture and heritage, from church, sport and carnival to fighting racism and discrimination.

Contributions from later generations reflect on the legacy of those who arrived decades before, while interactive displays explore food, music, games and fashion.
