Slow Burn: Environmental Showcase

Sat 25 November 2023 , 1pm-3pm

Weston Park Museum

Find out about what is happening in Sheffield about the climate crisis and hear how museums and cultural heritage activities are central to discussions about climate change.

You'll hear short presentations by local artists and researchers who will discuss climate change and its link to the arts and culture sector. Film screenings and flash talks will happen throughout the afternoon and the space will invite individuals to contribute to a living installation titled “Write a letter to the planet”.

This event is part of Sheffield‘s FRINGE COP28, which asks ‘What Can We Do in Sheffield?’ about our climate crisis and highlights co-created examples that brings together individuals and organisations that wouldn't usually meet and work alongside one another.

The project will curate events across the city with a focus on the City Centre, University of Sheffield and Page Hall area, and showcase artwork from the various community members and schools, invite local artists and researchers to share their work on climate justice, while giving space for scientific knowledge to be communicated and debated.
